Fitotrans, S.A.
Fitotrans, S.A. is a logistics service provider working in the chemical and fitosanitary
sector. Our activities are centred around Total Quality, freeing our clients to
confidently focus on the activities that are core to their business.
Our
dedication to customer service, since 1979, has established Fitotrans as the single
full-service Spanish provider in this sector, offering integral logistics management
that is uniquely tailored to the client's requirements, and without ever compromising
on security. The accreditation of our quality processes was established with our
successful ISO 9001 certification in 1998 and the SQAS (Warehousing and Transport) in 2006, and to be further extended with our
present objective to achieve ISO 14001 certification in the area of environmental
management.
In April of 2003, we inaugurated the opening of our Logistics Centre in Valencia,
Spain; an event that included the attendance of several members of the Spanish,
"Administración Central y Autonómica." In total, more than 100 representatives
from principle Spanish and European companies, as well as national associations,
in the fitosanitary sector were on hand to celebrate the inauguration with us.
The
event was covered by diverse media specialists in the chemical, fitosanitary and
logistics sectors.
During
the months of September and December, 2003, with the objective of
compliance with requirements stated in regulation R.D. 1254/99
regarding severe accidents (Seveso II), compliance with the current
law, and compliance with our internal quality and security plans, we
conducted accident simulations in our facilities in Chiva and
Carrión de los Céspedes. These simulations involved the
execution of our Internal Emergency Plan, with participation of our
internal response team, as well as the collaboration of members
supporting the External Emergency Plan (fire department, the Red Cross,
the civil guard, the civil protection, etc.)
These
simulations were complemented with theoretical and practical
instruction regarding the extinguishing of fires, and covering various
related aspects such as risk prevention, types and utilisation of
extinguishers, fire protection, proper response to spills and similar
incidences, procedures for response teams, cleaning and decontamination
of response equipment, and rescue of persons that are injured or in
danger.
